26th BERLIN OPEN DISC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS, JUNE 7-9 2013
still with air traffic noises!
The 26th Berlin Open Disc Golf Championships 2013 will be held on June 7-9 at the Volkspark Rehberge in Berlin. After our 25th Jubilee last year, we are back to the usual format: 30€ players fee, 90 spots, 18 holes, no OBs, approximately 50% of the players fee will be paid out as prize money and there will be a players package. As always, we are a PDGA Euro Challenge Tour Tournament (Tier B). The rules of play are the ones published by the PDGA.
The following information was added within the last few days:
-
June 17th: added two photo pages about this year's edition of the tournament. More will follow if I am pointed to them ;-)
-
June 12th: the tournament is over. The results are online since June 9th: pdga results page
-
June 8th: the results of the first two rounds are online.
-
May 12th: The list of players was deleted after an error and had to be recreated. There might be some changes in the order the participants appear, but there should be no changes on the waiting list (except for those players that got a wild card).
-
April 4th, evening: at 7:42 am we had to open this year's waiting list, in total there were 43 registrations today.
-
April 4th: we are now in registration phase 3, now everyone can register.
-
March 20th: at midnight, registration phase 2 begins (more information here).
-
March 7th, evening: sorry about the problems with the registration process today. Fortunately it seems all registration attempts were sucessfull, the first registration that reached us was from 8:14h. Due to a business trip, I will not update the players page until Saturday.
- March 7th: registration has opened (link see below)
- March 4th: published the rating requirements for the registration phases.
- March 1st: unhid the subpages.
-
February 17th: reworked some subpages, included a few details about format and the registration process.
- January 2nd: New initial web page created (with old Top banner and subpages).
The tournament is held at the Volkspark Rehberge, a beautiful park located about 4 km north of the center of Berlin. The location is roughly 2 km east of the Tegel airport (closes before the tournament) and 5 km north of the western part of the city center.
If you understand German (or want to use those links for a computer generated translation), you can find more information about the park from the city administration or the German Wikipedia article.
You can also take a view from above at Google maps or Bing maps.
The registration process will be basically the same as last year: we will have three phases of registration, with the best players being allowed to register first. If you live within Germany, your current D-Rating will be used to determine wether you can register during an earlier phase, if you live outside Germany, your current PDGA-Rating will be used instead. The first phase will be from March 7th to March 20th, the second phase will be from March 21st to April 3rd. From April 4th onwards, everyone will be allowed to register for the tournament, regardless of their rating.
The results are published at the pdga results page.
